One of the best things about building relationships with our clients is the opportunity to work with them on multiple projects. For Enjolé designer Candis Stratton, it was a joy to recently be able to help one client with three different projects!
Candis’ favorite project with this client was getting to work on an entire condominium at The Colours in Haynie’s Corner, Downtown Evansville. She states, “The funniest part of this project was that when I went to present her plan for the apartment, Amy said ‘wait there’s been a change’, and then she handed me a set of plans for a new build.” From the paint colors to the floors to the light fixtures and furniture to artwork and bedding, Candis was able to help her client create a youthful and unique living space from the ground up.
During the consultation, one of the biggest priorities the client had was the need for performance fabrics and flooring due to her four-legged friend. Candis was able to suggest the perfect pieces, like this Bernhardt sectional with performance fabric, to accommodate both the client’s vision as well as her practical needs living with a pet.
Living in the heart of the art district of Evansville, this client wanted her condo to stand out from the other similar looking spaces. Beyond the cosmetics of the vision, one of the client’s main priorities was to ensure the design would help her achieve her long-term goals. For this reason, Candis proposed she stick with a light and airy theme for its versatility and motivating aesthetic. With this simple palette, Candis was able to add fun pops of color and rich textures – through throw pillows, unique lamp shapes, and textured cabinets – complete with globally inspired accessories from the client to create a space full of the client’s personality and style.

The first thing these clients mentioned was the color orange. They loved it, and wanted to try to work it into the space however possible. And, that’s just what we did. We added brightly orange patterned accent pillows next to a cozy, neutral colored couch by 
As we started to add furniture and decor to the space, we knew it had to be done carefully for all the colors to remain tasteful. “The Cheryl Ottoman was a little bit tricky because of the pattern, but it ended up working really well.” Margy said. This client also wanted a little bit of whimsy, with a pop of contemporary style, so we added in decor pieces like the circular lamp, modern circular sculptures, palm leaves and a mix of metals to marry the two designs together. We were also able to marry these 2 design elements together in the mantle, adding coordinating shelves on each side for balance and a circular wooden mirror in the middle. 
The final statement piece in this space was the bar. The 
This room was a blank space that continually evolved, using the Beyonce artwork as inspiration for the room. “I found the artist on Instagram, and Susan loved her art. The design came together once we incorporated the painting… it’s amazing how you plan a room around great art,” Tammy said.
The final space our design team was able to create was a powder room. “We were able to paint the ceilings in this space, which is something we’re not able to do often.” Tammy admitted. “It made sense for the design because we were able to pull in color and connect it with a piece of art that the client’s husband had made for her — so special!” The space was complete with custom cabinetry, and we repurposed the original chandelier from the dining room.
Though our first home on Main Street in downtown Evansville will always hold a special place in our hearts, we have so much excitement ahead as we make plans for our new store, or as we like to call it, our “Enchanted Home,” in Newburgh. As we embark on a substantial renovation of the 180 year old building, we couldn’t imagine not taking you along with us for the ride.
BJs was once home to a frame shop, located on the top floor, and a floral shop, located on the lower level before it evolved into a furniture, home accents and interior design business. 
“We have this vision of making Enjole more than just a store… We see it becoming a destination,” shares Tammy. Imagine french doors at the back of the building opening up to an outdoor living space that will be an extension of the store and a place to easily pick up purchased items.
